Pel, proof and pretence

The illusion we’re all falling for.....in both good and bad ways.
AI and CGI have become double‑edged swords in shaping our perception of reality. On one hand, they enable astonishing creativity - crafting lifelike digital humans, reconstructing history for film or education, and revolutionising medicine, design, and communication. These tools expand imagination and accessibility, allowing artists and scientists alike to simulate worlds once confined to theory. Yet the same realism blurs the boundary between truth and fabrication. Deepfakes, synthetic voices, and hyper‑real CGI make it increasingly difficult to trust what we see, hear, or read, undermining journalism, personal reputation, and even collective memory.
In essence, AI and CGI empower creation as much as they challenge comprehension of authenticity - a modern paradox at the heart of the digital age.
But then, is all art essentially a type of unreality?
With grateful thanks here for the awesome work going to Mr Marcozzi.
